Women’s Project holds a unique place in the American Theater as the nation’s oldest and largest company dedicated to producing and promoting theater created by women.   Even in 2008, fewer than 13% of the professional productions in New York City were written and directed by women. Your generosity helps Women’s Project to combat gender bias with the simple act of job creation.

As a friend of Women’s Project, your stake in our future enables us to continue our good work, which includes:

Mainstage season – featuring theatrically dynamic new plays and classics written and directed by extraordinarily talented women, such as Catherine Trieschmann and her play Crooked (see photo at right with Cristin Milioti & Carmen M. Herlihy).

WP Lab – talent meets opportunity in the WP Lab, a free, highly-competitive, artistic residency program for playwrights, directors and producers.

Arts Education
-- our program serves over 2,000 public school students in New York City each year.

Women’s Project is the only women’s theater to own its own venue, the Julia Miles Theater in the heart of midtown Manhattan.

WP is a budget-conscious, not-for-profit organization operating under a
501(c )(3). A copy of WP's financial statements are available online at the New York State Charities Bureau, or contact Women’s Project at 212.765.1706 to request a copy of our most recent annual report.
